Wednesday nights

I won't lie. I used to hate Wednesday nights. As with most churches it is usually when we are the slimmest with our crowd. I didn't quite know what to do with the service. I didn't want to cancel it, but I just didn't know what to do with it. Then God convicted me about my attitude. While the Wednesday night crowd is usually the smallest, you can bet that almost 100% of the folks that come out represent the backbone of your church. They are your workers and your volunteers. People that make an effort to come to your midweek service want to be in church and want to be a part of the church as a whole.

I realized that this was my opportunity to preach to the backbone and refresh them from all the work they do in the church. Additionally, the style and intensity of the service shouldn't depend on the number anyway. That would be like blaming those who came for those who didn't. So starting back in January, I've made a special effort to preach encouraging, faith building, territory taking messages and God has been showing up as much on Wednesday nights as He does on Sunday's.

Tonight I preached on the offspring of the first Adam and the second Adam. God showed up and moved and ended up taking us down a road I didn't know we would go. We ended up praying for the men by themselves and the ladies by themselves. It's the start of something tremendous! So for all you Wednesday night folks, I love you to death! Thank you for your support and love for the church and its ministries. You make the church what it is!
