If you didn't know, I have two all time favorite sports players. One is Chipper Jones and the other is Brett Favre. I finally got to see Favre play last year with the Jets when Billie and I went up for Thanksgiving. It was a great experience. But now I'm reading, that the Minnesota Vikings are trying to get Favre out of retirement and that a meeting is going on this week to determine if it's a right fit for both parties.
Now before it goes there, I just want to say that I know the retire/unretire talk has got old over the past few years, but he's Brett Favre. He holds every meaningful record there is to hold for quarterbacks in the NFL. He's earned the right to waffle back and forth if he desires. What it boils down to is he obviously loves the game and he's having a hard time walking away. Many NFL players have faced it, but none were as special as Favre. It's no different than you or me trying to walk away from something that we love and that has been part of our lives as long as we can remember.
I hope he does whatever he feels he needs to do. Some are worried about his legacy as a Packer. Listen, he'll always be a Packer and would still be one if not for the front office of the Packers. Now if he still wants to play and can, let him play, wish him luck, and let's play some football. Oh and if he does come back, I may need someone to preach for me on Sunday, December 20th. I might be in Charlotte, NC for the Vikings v. Panthers game . . . . lol
